Mike Piazza’s last game as a Met
NLDS Game 1
The second of two games my Dad and I took in while visiting his old college buddy and checking out Colorado, which is one of my favorite states. We saw an awesome Mets blowout the night before but tonight the Rockies brought the lumber. Three homers hit into our section in left field in two innings, including two back to back. Impressive firepower. The Mets fought back but their offense is less reliable. Afterwards, we wandered up the the Bar lounge on the first base side and then around town a bit after the game was over. Still a fun park, even if the Mets stunk last season.
This was a great night out at the ballpark with my Dad while on vacation in Denver. The Mets had another forgetful season but they showed up this evening, exploding late for big runs to make it super fun for a visiting fan. Coors Field is a fun place to watch a game and there is tons of stuff to do nearby, which is good since my Dad's knee was really bugging him. Unfortunately, like in Philly two years earlier, we should have let it be after one game...
Weekday afternoon game. Cards came back with runs in 8th and 9th to win it.
