Sonny Gray pitched very well over his 5 innings, striking out 10 and conceding nothing (only 1 hit allowed). Each team only scored in one inning, but it was enough for the Reds.

Dad and I went. Joe Ross had his second good start in a row. Nats scored their first run in the 1st inning after Victor Robles scored from third on an ending inning double play where the second out was not a force out a second base and Robles touched home before the tag was made at second. Soto and Dozier hit solo HRs in the 4th inning despite Soto spraining his ankle two games earlier and Dozier reportedly having flu-like symptoms. Victor Robles made one of the best throws I've ever seen when he gunned Jose Peraza out trying to go first to third on a Jesse Winker single to CF. The throw was clocked at 97.3 MPH and was a little off-line but Rendon made an awesome pick and dive to tag the runner out just in time. Looked like it might start thunderstorming in the top of the 8th, but Daniel Hudson closed the game out with a 4 out save and got the game over before it needed to be delayed.
