Sitting in the first row of fully vaccinated section 111, across from the Nuggets bench, Dad and I watched Denver go 20-38 from 3, and commit just 1 foul in the 3rd quarter while the Blazers had 10 called on them. Still, down 10 with 30 seconds remaining, we rallied to be down just 3 with 3.5 seconds left and then they missed two free throws, but Jokic tipped in the rebound to end the game.

Sitting in the 2nd row of courtside, a vaccinated section directly behind Jody Allen, Neil Olshey, Chris McGowan and Bert Kolde, we had to take rapid covid tests on the 4th floor of the garden garage at our scheduled time of 11am. Afterward, we parked down on level 2 and entered the arena at about 11:20, as the first ones in where we then watched warm ups. I welcomed Will Barton back, and said “looks like you need a couple more weeks off” for his hamstring and he replied, “I do!” Dame nodded at me, Derrick Jones had a big dunk, and Harry Giles knocked the seat over at my feet after missing a shot. He was very animated, and his trainer apologized and asked if I was alright, to which I replied, “Of course, that was awesome!” Then I received a very aggressive high five from Giles that left marks on my arm 10 minutes later. Food wasn’t allowed at the seats so I had to sit and order a coke at the courtside club restaurant before tip off, where they had game worn jerseys and old posters. We were in front of the family section, where Dame and CJ’s family were very vocal. Jody air fist bumped us as she walked in and we chatted during the game, I told her to feel free to stand whenever she wants, and she turned back to say “It’s so nerve wracking isn’t it!” Neil was very worked up and left his seat at halftime after telling Jody “No 2’s, only shoot 3’s!” Norm scored 29 points and the crowd chanted his name. It was Carmelo’s birthday and we sang to him. Carrie Brownstein waved at me. We won by 20, and after the game Nurk walked over to hug Dame’s Mom, and tossed me his towel as he walked back toward the locker room before we drove to PDX, stopping at Burgerville along the way.

What a game! Reggie Miller and Kevin Harlan on the call! My dad and I in the upper deck! Even from those seats, we could see Jokic travel at the end of regulation! Warriors blew a huge lead and lost in OT, but a lot of fun! We got fried chicken sandwiches and ice cream. Unforgettable night!
